What can I expect post-treatment?
Photodynamic Therapy may cause a sunburn like reaction that lasts up to five days. Patients can experience swelling, peeling and discomfort in the process of receiving this treatment but no matter how severe it is there will not be any scarring or permanent damage.

Topical anesthesia makes the treatment much less painful. You might feel like you are getting a sunburn, but this will only last for seconds.
What precautions should I take after treatment?
You will need to be completely out of the sunlight for 24 hours in order not to have any complications from Photodynamic Therapy! For at least three months after your treatment, make sure to also wear SPF 30 or higher.
