Facial Skin Resurfacing
If aging, acne, or too much time in the sun has left your face with blotches, scars, wrinkles, or lines, skin resurfacing may help your skin look younger and healthier.
Facial skin resurfacing offers a safe and effective method to remove surface imperfections, shrink pores, lighten and diminish or remove pigment, and reduce lines and wrinkles; the result is a more youthful appearance of the skin.
It can also treat loss of skin tone and improve your complexion if you have scars or sun damage.
At Bare Body Laser Spa, we offer ablative and non-ablative options for skin resurfacing. Skin resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure that can use laser technology/Nitrogen Plasma to improve the appearance of the skin by addressing various concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines, scars, uneven skin tone, and texture irregularities. There are different types of methods that can be used for skin resurfacing, each targeting specific skin issues. At Bare Body Laser Spa, we conduct an assessment of your skin to determine what method is best for you. No matter the concern, we can address the issue.

How to prepare for your treatment:
- Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks before treatment. Use sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin.
- Discontinue the use of certain skincare products, including retinoids, at least one week before the procedure.
- Inform your provider about any medications you are taking, and follow their recommendations regarding the use of specific medications before the treatment. If you are taking blood-thinning medication, then you may need to temporarily stop taking it for one to three days before the appointment.
- Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to keep your skin well-hydrated. We typically recommend clients drink pedialyte or another form of electrolytes two weeks prior to treatment. This will help keep your body hydrated and help with results.
- Maintain a balanced diet with a focus on fruits, vegetables, and foods rich in vitamins and antioxidants to support skin health.
- Keep your skin clean and well-moisturized leading up to the treatment day.
- Arrive at your appointment with a clean face, free of makeup, lotions, or other skincare products.
For all face treatments, we take photos. This is to track the progress of the treatment.
After Care:
Please note that after care may differ depending on the specific machine or treatment that was used. After ablative laser resurfacing, the treated skin will be raw, swollen and itchy. - Do not take hot showers or baths for the first 24 hours after treatment. Instead, opt for lukewarm water and avoid using any harsh soaps or scrubs on the treated area.
- Cleanse your face with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. Avoid using harsh or exfoliating cleansers for a few days.
- Avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours after the procedure. ( potentially longer depending on the specific treatment )
- Apply a moisturizer regularly to keep the skin hydrated and prevent dryness ( we may provide or suggest specific products )
- Avoid strenuous activity or exercise for at least 24 hours after treatment.
- If you experience any puffiness or redness in the treated area, try applying a cold compress.
