PEELS

Laser & Chemical Peels - VI-Peel

At Bare Body Laser Spa, we offer Laser Peels and VI Peel (medical-grade chemical peel) designed to improve the tone, texture, and clarity of the skin. It is a popular treatment for addressing various skin concerns, including hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and acne. Here are concerns that can be addressed with a Peel:

  • Hyperpigmentation: Helps reduce the appearance of sunspots, melasma, and other forms of hyperpigmentation.

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Acne and Acne Scarring: Addresses acne-prone skin and can help reduce acne scars.

  • Texture and Tone: Enhances skin texture and promotes a more even skin tone.

How To Prepare For The Appointment:

Preparing for a Peel involves several steps to ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of complications. Here’s a guide on how to prepare for a peel:

  • No direct sun exposure for 2 weeks pre-treatment. Minimizing sun exposure in the weeks leading up to the peel can prevent sunburned or excessively tanned skin and can increase the risk of complications. Always use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 when exposed to the sun.

  • Discontinue the use of certain skincare products containing retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and other exfoliating agents for at least one week before the peel. These products can increase skin sensitivity.

  • Inform us about any medications you are currently taking. Certain medications, such as oral retinoids, may need to be adjusted or discontinued before the peel.

  • Keep your skin well-hydrated in the days leading up to the peel. Moisturized skin tends to respond better to the exfoliation process.

  • Avoid waxing or laser hair removal procedures on the treatment area for at least one week before the peel.

  • Peels can cause visible peeling and redness, so plan for some downtime during the peeling phase. It’s advisable to schedule the peel when you can, avoid social events or activities where visible peeling might be a concern. (roughly around 3–7 days)

  • If you have a history of sensitive skin or have experienced adverse reactions to skincare treatments in the past, please inform us. We can adjust the peel formulation or recommend additional precautions.

For all face treatments, we take photos. This is to track the progress of the treatment.

  • Avoid active topicals such as retinol, until fully healed.
