The treatment requires at least 4 to 8 sessions and it is recommended that skin-resting time to absorb the tattoo ink is 6 to 8 weeks between sessions (potentially longer) some areas of the body might need 12 weeks in between sessions.
*For pricing please send a picture of your tattoo with a ruler/coin next to it so we can gauge size.
-
Avoid exposing the tattooed area to direct sunlight or tanning beds for several weeks before the procedure. UV rays can affect the skin and the laser treatment process.
-
Avoid blood thinners: e.g. aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol. Let us know if you are on a prescription blood thinner before discontinuing. Blood thinners may cause increased bruising or blood blisters.
-
Avoid using self-tanning products or spray tans on the tattooed area before the treatment, as they can interfere with the laser’s effectiveness.
-
Proper hydration is essential for the healing process. Drink plenty of water to support your overall health and skin’s recovery.
How To Prepare For The Appointment:
After Care
After your treatment, we will have applied an anti-inflammatory cream/gel. This will soothe any inflammation.
The healing process may look different for each patient, and your treatment site may exhibit different tissue reactions after each treatment.
Potential side effects of the healing process: 1–3 days (roughly): redness, tenderness, swelling, treatment site has pinpoint bleeding, blistering or red, yellow, or clear discharge.
24hrs after treatment and should subside within 2 weeks (roughly): scabs, bruising. Refrain from picking or scratching the treated area, as this can disrupt the healing process and lead to scarring or infection.
-
For the first few days after treatment, it is important to keep the area clean and dry (no harsh soaps or cleansers). You may also want to apply a sterile dressing (non-stick bandage) and ointment to help protect the skin. Apply Vaseline based products, Dermol cream or Aquaphor 3 – 4 times a day for the first 3 days after treatment to promote healing and reduce itching and irritation. Continue to moisturize regularly to keep the site soft and supple. We may also give you a small supply of a potent anti-inflammatory ointment. Please apply it to the treated areas in the evening and again the following morning. This helps to settle the inflammation.
-
If you experience redness, swelling, or discomfort, you can apply cool compresses (like ice) to the area to ease these symptoms. Alternate the compress on and off every 1–3 minutes as needed. Do Not leave ice on the treated area for more than 5 minutes. Natural Aloe vera gel may also be applied
-
Limit physical activity (exercising and any activity that results in perspiring) while the skin heals, it may take up to 2 weeks for the skin to heal.
-
NO alcohol/blood thinners for at least 72 hrs after treatment
-
Don’t soak in baths, hot tubs, or pools unless the skin has healed completely and avoid hot steamy showers
-
The treated area should be elevated above the heart when possible. This is especially important for tattoos on the lower leg, ankle and feet.
-
Avoid exposure to sunlight or other sources of UV light, as this can cause irritation. Apply SPF 50 to tattoo when in direct sunlight.
-
Opt for loose, comfortable clothing to minimize friction and irritation on the treated area.
-
Always stay hydrated
